Elton Percy Fisher

Elton Percy Fisher, lovingly known as” Fisher”, was born to the late Dorothy and Bradley Teal on August 15, 1940. He departed this life at his residence in Cumberland County on April 20, 2018. 

Funeral services were held at the Minor B. Eggleston Chapel, 914 So. Main St., Farmville, VA. on Friday, April 27, 2018. Mr. Fisher was laid to rest at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, Virginia.

Mr. Fisher received his education in Prince Edward County Schools, graduating from R. R. Moton High School.  He joined the United States Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1964. He married Betty Robinson on August 14, 1965. Four children were born from this Union. He had two sisters that proceeded him in death, Gloria Harding and Nancy Gaither.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife: Melinda Fisher of Decatur, GA; four children: three sons, Byron Keith Fisher of Hanover MD, Elton Tracy Fisher of Richmond VA, Wendell Lamar Fisher(Suzanne) Charlotte NC; one daughter, Iris Fisher Phillips of Richmond VA; two sisters, Barbara Teal Brooks (George) of Baltimore MD and Deborah Hamlin of Baltimore; two brothers, Bradley Teal (Hazel) of Baltimore MD and Robert Teal of Baltimore MD; a devoted help mate and lifetime friend, Betty R. Fisher; six grandchildren (Brandon, Jayde, Kristin, Quinn, Tyler, Chloe) and one great-grandson (Brayson); devoted nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
