Miss Annie L. Wright-Branch departed this life on April 19, 2023 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. Annie Lou was born October 12, 1955 to Clarence Edward Baker of Baltimore, Maryland and Frances E. Wright-Booker Miller. Frances E. Wright-Booker Miller preceded her in death. At an early age, Annie Lou found Christ and joined the New Hope Baptist Church in Hampden-Sydney, VA, where she remained a member until her death.
She is survived by her former husband, Samuel Leon Branch. Annie Lou leaves the following to cherish her memories; father, Clarence Edward Baker of Baltimore, MD; Aunt, Estella Smith of Dillwyn, VA; two sisters, Veronica “Ronnie” Chase (husband-Kevin) and Tara Booker; one brother, Reverend Clarence Wright of Fort Worth, TX; six sons, Samuel L. Branch III (wife-Mattie) of Hampden-Sydney, VA, Anthony Branch of Hampden-Sydney, VA, Antoine Branch (wife- Christina) of Pamplin, VA, Tyrone Branch (wife-Shamica) of Hampden-Sydney, VA, Tony Branch of Hampden-Sydney, VA, Tyrice Branch of Hampden-Sydney, VA, two daughters, Tracy Branch (whom preceded her in death) and Tomekia Sumrall (Branch) (husband-Tyrone) of Collinsville, MS, her beloved daughter-in-law, Shamica L. Branch of Hampden-Sydney, VA, a host of grandchildren, with a utmost genuine bond with Sariah Adams (Rye-Rye), a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; devoted friends, George Scott of Hampden-Sydney, VA and Jessie Baker of Hampden-Sydney. VA.
