Carrie Ann Carter, daughter of the late Willie Lee Carter and Carrie Katherine Blanton Carter was born February27, 1961 in Cumberland County, VA. On September 2, 2021 the Angel of Death visited her, she departed this life at home with her family by her side.

Carrie was preceded her in death in death by her sister, Irene (Patty) and brother, Ernest Carter.

At an early age she was converted baptized and joined Midway Baptist Church and maintained a faithful membership until her death. She attended Cumberland County Public Schools. Her career consisted of being a dedicated caregiver – 15 years with Mrs. Reid of Farmville, VA and the last 24 years at Aable Rest Home in Cumberland, VA. Carrie always provided her residents with daily assistance, good cooking and overall abundance of love and she always treated her residents like family.

On August 4, 2012 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Alvin D. Carter. Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend who loved and cared for her family beyond measure. She had a passion for cooking and preparing meals for family and friends, especially during the holidays. She hosted many family gatherings at her home. Carrie always found a reason for the family to get together. She opened her heart and home to many and always just loved to be in the presence of others.

In her spare time Carrie enjoyed baking and was an extremely talented baker who was well known through out the community for her famous pound cakes, Carmel cakes, sweet potato and coconut pies. She took pride in al that she did.

Carrie is survived by her husband: Alvin D. Carter; three daughters: Tequila Jackson, Prospect, VA; Lakeisha Royall & Lashay Jackson, Richmond, VA; 4 step -children: Anthony Smith, Farmville, VA; Marissa Smith, New Jersey; Phylicia Carter & Dannielle Carter, Maryland; Godson: Jarrod Brown, Farmville, VA; 9 granddaughters: Tequiza, Jermeaka, Brianna, Eternity, Kaylee, Shaliyah, Aaliyah, Kyaaliya & Serenity; 5 grandsons: Daquane, Anthony, Jr., Traivon II, Josiah and Rayvon; 6 sisters: Earlean & Barbara, Cumberland, VA; Rebecca Miller, Linda Carter, Estelle Carter and Betty Carter, Richmond, VA; 1 brother: Willie J. Carter (Donnie), Cumberland, VA; 4 sisters -in -law, 5 brothers -in -law, three special, devoted friends: Iris Simpkins, Bertha Davis & Leslie Jackson along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
