Danny Evans Martin departed this life to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born on November 13, 1958 in Union, S.C., to
Mary Jeter Martin & Willie Lee Martin. After a short stay in South Carolina they moved to Philadelphia, Pa. where he attended the Catholic school system from 5th–11th grade. He transferred in his 12th year to Overbrook High School, where he graduated. At an early age, Danny Confessed in the Catholic Church and gave his life over to the Lord, where he attended and practiced the faith of being a Catholic. He attended Sunday school often, paid his dues, and enjoyed many functions after school. He played sports like basketball, football, and shuffleboard. After graduating from Overbrook High School, he joined the Army and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Upon returning home from Germany, he attended welding school near Amelia, Va. His career spanned from working in retail to Veterans Affairs (VA) during his lifetime.
Danny leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Mary Jeter Baylis; late father, Willie Lee Martin; brother, Dwayne Martin; late sister, Dahlene Martin-Lovelace; twin daughters, Sonya Smith and the late LaTonya Smith; one grandson, Darnell Smith; and a host of aunts, late uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends.
