Derrick “Duke” Gray

Mr. Derrick E. “Duke” Gray, age 47, of Cumberland, VA, entered enteral rest on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Derrick was born December 6, 1975 in Orange, New Jersey to Jim and Lottie. Derrick has a heart of gold and never met a stranger. I would often ask him "who's that you're talking to and he said, "I don't know" with a smile. He cared about his family; if you were "ok", he was "good." Derrick had a great friend/brother, Richie, that helped him out a lot. Derrick loved to cook and invite family and friends over and he would often say, "what's good" or to his nephew, Brian, "what's good with you baby?".

Derrick leaves to cherish his wonderful memories his children and grandchildren. Parents, Jim and Sharon of Irvington, New Jersey and Charles and Lottie of Cumberland, Virginia; Sisters, Linda, Catina (Joseph), Nicole Jenkins; Aunts, Cora, Lucille and Bert, Lillian, Maxey; Uncles, Elijah (Lois), James Wallace and Alonza Gray; His girlfriend, Tonya Berryman, whom he cared for dearly and you would have thought her name was "Baby"; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
