Mrs. Edith A. Gee, age 74, of Green Bay, VA, entered enteral rest on Friday, March 31, 2023. Edith was born on February 6, 1949 as a twin, in New York to the late Lewis Haskins and Margaret Haskins. Shortly after, the family migrated to Rice, VA where Edith and her siblings were raised. Edith was married to the late Jerry Lee Gee. Edith and Jerry later were blessed with their one and only child, Jeremiah.
Edith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was converted and baptized. She attended RR Motion School located in Prince Edward County until the 6th grade. She later attended JobCorp where she received her certificate to become a certified nursing assistant. Edith obtained a job with Holly Manor, where she worked for over 30 years. Edith, also known as “Bump” was a loving and nurturing grandmother. Edith loved being a grandmother and never missed a chance to give the children gifts. And oh boy, did she enjoy watching baseball games; and screaming for joy without shame. She enjoyed watching television and shopping with her sister, Evelyn. When you saw one, you saw the other. Edith was an upbeat individual who loved to dance and celebrate. She was a ball of life up until her health began to decline. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Margaret Haskins, her brothers, Milton Haskins, Ricky Haskins, and William Haskins.
She is survived by her son, Jeremiah Lee Gee, Sr. (Carlisa Gee), grandchildren, Jeremiah Jr., Melody, Leah, Caden, Gabriella, and Jmiah Gee. Twin brother, Albert Haskins (Gloria), two siblings, Evelyn Gee (Harvey), Pinkey Haskins. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
