Edward Luster, son of the late Issac Luster and Sarah Cousin was born in Mecklenburg, VA. Edward entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home in Rice VA with his family beside him. At an early age Edward joined the Good Hope Baptist Church. He knew God as his personal Savior and enjoyed going to church and gospel programs. Edward joined the Navy on July 13, 1943 during World War II. After leaving the Navy, he became a truck driver for many years, later retiring.
At an early age Edward joined the Good Hope Baptist Church. He knew God as his personal Savior and enjoyed going to church and gospel programs. Edward was joined in holy matrimony to Zella Walton, they had twenty plus wonderful years. To their union he gained five step-children. They shared many special memories but one that was really special was their morning routine of going to McDonalds for breakfast and talking with their friends.
Edward was a hard worker and he was very soft spoken. He loved watching westerns and Fred Sanford on TV. Edward was loved by everyone he met. He was lovingly known by many as "Bart" and best known as "Papa". Edward was preceded in death by his daughter, Burnell Chambers and step-daughter, Lydia Simmons.
He leaves to cherish his love and precious memories; his devoted wife: Zella Luster two sons: Kenneth Luster & Edward Luster, Jr. of Richmond VA. Five step-children; Patricia Jenkins, Meherrin, VA, Melvin Walton (Deborah), Atlanta, GA, Valerie Marshall (Edward), Meherrin, VA, Marlene Baker (Joseph), of Meherrin VA. Grandchildren; Nicole Luster, Ronnie Luster and Jarkisha Luster; Great-grandchildren; Precious, Zyon, Roniyah, Zaniyah and Zakhi, and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward was very much loved by his extended family and will truly be missed.
