Ethel Dorothy Streat Agnew, daughter of the late Guy Streat and Ella Oliver was born March 18, 1947 in Lunenburg County, Virginia.
Ethel “Dottie” entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Wayland Nursing Home, Keysville, VA. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Meherrin, Virginia. Ethel married Wilfred Thomas Agnew, who preceded her in death. To this union 6 children were born. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dottie loved cooking and doing yard work with her flowers. However, she was also very outspoken, letting you know exactly how she felt.
Ethel (Dottie) was preceded in death by her parents: Guy Streat, Sr. and Ella Streat Oliver and Step-father, Vernon Oliver; and her siblings: Janet Elois Hines, Raymond Streat and Guy Streat, Jr.
She leaves to cherish many wonderful loving memories too her children: Remona McFadden (Michael) , Washington, DC; Tammy Scott, Farmville, VA; Thomas Agnew (Sheri), Green Bay, VA; Linda Burton (Jimmy), Drakes Branch, VA. Clifton Agnew (Angela), Keysville, VA; Pamela Scott (James), Meherrin, VA and Marquisha Fitzgearld (she raised as her daughter ); 16 grand children, 6 greatgrandbabies and 2 godchildren; Siblings Mable L. Hines, Delaware; Robert Streat, Rockingham, North Carolina, Clearence Streat (Aletha) and Vernon Marshall (Joyce), Meherrin, Virginia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
