Gene Redd Obituary

Gene Roscoe Redd entered Heaven’s Gates on February 15, 2023. He was born on September 16, 1960, in Rice, Virginia. He was the fifth child of eight children born to the union of Russell and Alberta Anderson Redd. Gene attended Prince Edward County Schools. He was employed with Schewels for several years until his health failed him. He accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized at the Saint James Baptist Church, Jetersville, Virginia. Gene had an unwavering love for God.

He was a devoted husband, and had unconditional love for his wife, Ava with whom he spent. He was a loving, caring son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very humble, generous, and kindhearted person, who would give his last to someone in need. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, being with family and spending time with friends. Those who knew him best knew that he was a very private person who loved and cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Redd, his brother, Douglas Redd, his sister, Gail Reed, his father in-law Levia Armstrong, his mother-in-law, Audrey Faulker, his sister in laws, Shireen Armstrong, Shawn Faulkner, and brother-in-law, Levia Armstrong

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his devoted wife, Ava Redd; his mother, Alberta Redd; two sisters, Cheryl Berry and Joy Redd Jones (James); three brothers, Donald Redd, Russell Redd, Cornasie Redd; three sister in laws Judith Faulkner, Donna Johnson (Dan), Bernadette Dillihay (Rich- ard), three brother in laws; Levy Armstrong, Levon Armstrong (Damia), Colin Faulkner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends
