On Thursday, September 23, 2021, God in His infinite wisdom called Gladys L. Miller Cordell, of 14620 Northwood Drive, Chesterfield, Virginia to her heavenly home. Gladys was born in Farmville, Virginia on October 22, 1940 to the late Rosa B. Miller and Norman Miller. A Virginia native and military wife to Retired SGM Robert M. Cordell, Sr., of 30 years military service. During that time she lived in Germany, toured Paris, France. After settling in Chesterfield, she was employed at Virginia State University until she retired. Gladys was an active member and usher at Union Branch Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Robert Cordell, Sr.; Three devoted children: Tuwana Townes; Robert M. Cordell, Jr and Kimberly Kirkland (Roderick); Seven grand-children: Robert R. Townes (Luisa), Robert M. Cordell, III, DeAndre Cordell (Jaelin), Annika Kirkland, Tyler Kirkland, Zanobi Kirkland and DeCarlos Langhorne who preceded her to heaven. Brother-in-law: Robert Ross and wife; Four surviving siblings of twelve: Carrie Thornton, David Miller, Linwood Miller and Mary Ann Miller. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
