On January 17, 2022, Henry Junius Edmonds departed this life. Henry, was the son of the late John Randolph Edmonds and Virginia Braxton Edmonds and was born on June 5, 1942. At an early age Henry joined Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and served on the Men’s Chorus.
Henry move to New Jersey in the 60’s but, always talked about moving back to Virginia and building a home. In 1990 Henry had his home built in Virginia, fulfilling his dream and moved back to Virginia. Henry worked at Kyanite Mining until his retirement. Henry was a quiet man with a big heart who loved fixing things outside and around the house. But what he loved the most was his family and he always made sure his family was taken care of.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Edmonds; brothers: Robert Edmonds, Harold Edmonds, Winston Edmonds, Johnnie Edmonds and Lawrence Edmonds.
Henry is survived by his wife, Vennie Edmonds; two daughters: Tory Edmonds & Cynthia Coats; two sons: Marvin Edmonds & Jerome Patterson (Eloise); five grandchildren: Juanita Coats, Darraiha Edmonds, Jernisha Bartee, DeShawn Coats & Jerrell Bartee; Great grand-daughter, Asa Edmonds; one brother: Lloyd Edmonds (Chiwana), and three sisters: Anna Gray, Mary Morton (Junius) and Mildred Bolden and numerous cousins, other family and friends.
