Mrs. Janie Marion Lee was born March 23, 1940 to the late Matt and Rosa Booker Trent. She departed this life on September 3rd in Washington DC after a long battle of illness. Three children proceeded her in death; Jacqueline, Earlene and Geraldine Lee. One brother; Edmond Trent and one sister; Adele Trent also proceeded her in death.
Janie joined the St Joy Baptist Church at an early age. She received her education through Buckingham County Public Schools. She was married to the late Robert Lee. She decided to leave the rural area of Virginia to pursue happiness and success for herself and family in Washington DC. There she found new family and friends that loved her dearly. Cooking was her passion. She became the head cook at Wilson Grille and Florida Avenue Grille until she retired. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her own and to many others in the area. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories; 2 daughters; Janie Trent of Richmond VA and Brenda Lee of Washington DC, 4 sons ; Nathaniel Trent, Robert Lee (Elmira), Willie Lee (Kelly), and Bruce Lee (Angel), all of Washington DC, 1 brother Matt Trent (Penney) of Richmond VA., 19 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren in which one devoted granddaughter Rosa Lee that stayed by her side; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including a devoted close friend Joyce Manning.
