On May 23, 2022, as he slept, Jeffrey LeRoy Anderson, "Roy", went to his eternal home with the Lord. Jeff was born on February 17, 1945, to the late Arthur Holt and Gertrude Stevenson. He loved in Virginia but moved to New Jersey as a young boy. After becoming an adult, Jeff moved to New York and lived there until he retired and moved back to Virginia.
Jeff worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters #456. He loved his job and was a hard worker. Jeff loved fishing, signing and playing his guitar, Jeff also loved singing with the choir here at Mount Zion and helped out whenever needed. Jeff accepted Christ early in life and was a member of Kings Highway Apostolic Church in Yonkers, New York. He also enjoyed fellowship with Mount Zion Baptist Church after he returned to Virginia.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Frank, Eddie, Claude and sisters, Almeda, Arlene, Minnie, Mildred, Pauline, Gaye, Lillian, Clara, and Sylvia. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved, childhood sweetheart and friend, Jeanette Smith. His children: Deneen Anderson, Jeffrey Anderson Jr (Patricia), Bridgette Adams, Adam Anderson and Salena Rutledge. Grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. Jeffrey will truly be missed.
