Keith Bernard Morton, son of Dale Y. Morton and Jeffrey Morton was born August 30, 1976, in Prince Edward County Virginia. About the early evening of February 22, 2022, Keith departed this life for his new home to be in the presence of the Lord. Keith joined New Hope Baptist Church at a young age and attended church and Sunday school with his grandmother and grandfather Mae and Wille Morton. Keith attended Prince Edward County Elementary School until he was 7 years old. He then moved to Chesterfield Virginia 1983 with his Dad and Step-mom Angi Morton. Keith attended Chesterfield County schools from 1983 through graduation from Manchester High School in 1994. There he played football and ran track. Keith’s favorite professional football team was the Washington Redskins.
After graduation Keith went to work doing mechanical, then construction work, but his heart was in communication and sales he landed his dream job with Verizon. Keith met Shonna and they had a wonderful son Elijah. Keith was passionate about his job. So much so that on the day of his passing he said “don’t take me to the hospital because I will miss work”. He was very good at his job and winning awards for salesperson of the year. His hobbies were fishing and sports. His favorite song was “The River” by Leon Bridges.
To cherish his memories he leaves his mother, Dale, father, Jeffrey, and step-mother Angi Morton; son, Elijah; brother, Cameron Morton (Rachel); sisters, Sontina Morton and Bekki Woody (Dyson); devoted friends Tarsheka Carroll, Dee and other loving friends and caretaker Deloris Marsh which he nicknamed her “Miss Bossy”. Very devoted cousins L. Lyle and Alonzo, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
