Laura Bell Hairston Lambert

Laura Bell Hairston-Lambert, was born on July 26, 1924 to the late Willie Pryor and Melissa Washington-Pryor, of Cumberland, VA. She received her wings and entered eternity on August 25, 2021.
Laura was a great lady of faith, she lived her life giving and serving others in need. Laura attended Cumberland County High School; she accepted Christ at Corner Stone Baptist Church, Farmville, VA. She was a long-time active member until her inability to drive caused her to stop attending. She held numerous employments: Stackpole Inc., provided at homecare in her spare time for families within the town of Farmville and Newman Tire Company. Laura loved to play the piano and sewing (making clothes and drapes for herself and others).

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Hairston (1954) and Samuel Lambert (1988); youngest son, William Hairston; daughter-in-law, Bernice Hairston; sisters: Pauline Pryor, Louise Childress and Estell Randolph; and brothers: Alexander Washington, Henry Washington, and William Pryor, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her son: Walter E. Hairston, Sr.; daughter in-law, Delphine Brown-Hairston both of Farmville, VA; eight grandchildren: Jenette, Sharrod Sr., Walter, Jr., Angela, Keith, Rodney, Kevin and Pamela; Thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, two brothers in-laws and numerous cousins and close and dear friends.
