Lloyd William Allen

Lloyd William Allen., Sr., was born September 16, 1938 to Luther and Emma Allen.  On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the age of 81, having fought multiple rounds of illness, Lloyd overcame the pain and suffering of recent years, and yielded to the call home of his Heavenly Father.

Lloyd Allen, Sr., was preceded in death by his parents: Luther and Emma Allen; His sisters: Susie Lyle, Gracie Lyle, Kaatie Wright and Ruth Scott.  His brothers: James Allen and Morton Allen, Sr.

Lloyd graduated from Rober R. Moton High School.  He worked as a Printer/Press operatior for the town's local newspaper, The Farmville Herald, for many years before retiring.  Lloyd was an avid fisher, hunter and gardener.  He loved telling tales of his fishing adventrues and attending neighborhood baseball/softball games.  He also enjoyed watching college football and westerns.  His garden provided produce that fed his family, friends, and community.

Lloyed is survived by one sibling: his last surviving brother, Walter Allen, Sr., Prospect, VA.  Walter was not only his brother but also his friend.  Walter watched out for and walked closely with Lloyd during his last days.  Lloyd is survived by his five children: Cindy Allen of Roanoke, VA:
