Pastor Leon Cedric Jackson

Pastor Leon Cedric Jackson was born in Oakland, California on October 4th 1959, to parents Clarence and Rosalyn Ethel Jackson. He departed unexpectedly from us on Saturday December 11, 2021 after a long day of fishing. Leon grew up in Oakland, he attended Skyline High School. He graduated in 1977 and attended courses at Chabot and Merritt Colleges. He rededicated his life to Christ in his late teen years. Shortly after that he met and married his love, and partner in life, Esther Jackson on July 11th 1981.This union resulted in 40 years of matrimony and 2 daughters, Tasha Jackson, and Cedrene Jacques. Leon entered into the ministry in 1983 under the guidance of his Father, Pastor Clarence Jackson. He would eventually go on to Pastor his own church Comforter C.O.G.I.C before he eventually retired.

Outside of working for the kingdom of the Lord, Leon had a varied and never dull work life. He worked for some time as a security guard at the Oakland museum, he also put in many years as a civilian officer with the Oakland Police Department and owned several small businesses. If you knew Leon, you know he was definitely a people person, he had a big personality and an even bigger heart. People just seemed to gravitate towards him. He was a dedicated husband and an attentive and loving father and grandfather. He had many hobbies but he was most known for his love of fishing. He was taught at an early age how to fish by his father. There were many family fishing trips up at Clearlake and other secret spots. Eventually, he would go on to become a master fisherman that could compete with the best of the best at the sport. On his last day here with us, he went on yet another fishing trip and was returning home when he went on to be with the Lord.

Cherishing his many fond memories are; his loving wife; Esther Jackson, his eldest daughter Tasha Jackson, his youngest daughter Cedrene (Isaac) Jacques, three grandchildren; Se’Maj, Daunte, and Cedrea, his father; Clarence (Trina) Jackson, his mother Rosalyn Jackson precedes him in death. Brother, Shawn (Tiann) Jackson, sister; Lorna (Cedric) Slack, brothers; Micheal Gospel, and Jordan Jackson as well as a host of nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
