Richard Harvey, Jr Obituary

On Saturday October 10, 2020 our family chain was broken.  Our heavenly father whispered to Richard James Harvey, Sr. its time to return home to paradise.  Richard was affectionately known to his family as Peanut.  He was given this nickname because when he was born to his father the late Richard Ross and mother Laverne Harvey, because he weighed in at a whopping 3lbs 4oz.  He was the oldest of four children being preceded in death by his brother Angelo Lorenzo Harvey also known as Tanka.  Richard attended Prince Edward County School District.   Early on in his life Richard was bestowed with the charge of nurturing two beautifulblessings; Uniqua Barksdale and Marquel Harvey.  In September 2001 God blessed him again and placed the love of his life before him.  On April 19, 2004 the two were joined in holy matrimony.  From the union he was charged with two more beautiful blessing to nurture; Rianna and Richard, Jr. (RJ).

Peanut was always the life of the party.  He was very outgoing and well loved.  Because of these traits he was able to obtain his first carpentry job.  His light shined as a carpenter all while loving what he was doing.  If you could see it he could build it.  He was definitely a jack of all trades.  He was also know as Mr. Fix it because he really could.  Peanut also had a passion for fishing, singing and first and foremost , serving the Lord.  With that being said, I am sure he heard God say well done my good and faithful servant-(Matthew 25;23).  Peanut was preceded in death by his grandmother Lorean Booker-Harvey.

Peanut leaves to cherish his precious memory to his loving and devoted wife Towanna; his children; Uniqua, Marquel, Rianna, and RJ; his grandchildren; Caleb, Cayden, Meccayla his mother Laverne, stepfather Clarence Epps, Sr (Sheila); siblings; Ulonda and Clarence, Jr, a host of nieces and nephews, his loving grandfather, Fred Brown, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins who were more like brothers and sisters, his mother and father-in-law Joseph and Jacqueline, sister-in-law Trina Love Neal (Carlton).Along with so many other relatives and friends.  Peanut formed a brotherhood of friends her in Philadelphia with four special brothers; Shorty, Jay, Al, and Big Will, his best friend.
