Wilbert "Mitch" Bowen

Wilbert "Mitch" Bowen was born May 31, 1955 in Rice, Virginia. He was the youngest child of the late Edith Smith Bowen and Freddie H. Bowen. He was preceded in death by his brother Freddie "Leroy" Bowen.
Mitch was a graduate of Prince Edward County High School. He entered the United States Army at an early age where he served 3 years and worked as a food service specialist. He was also awarded as a sharpshooter and M16 rifle expert. Mitch had a love for cooking, good laughs and good music.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters: Shannon Bowen Clark (Darius Clarke) of Atlanta, Georgia, Shante Bowen Gibbs (Ricky Gibbs) of Rice, Virginia and Whitney Simone Eanes of Rice, Virginia; one brother, Willie E. Bowen (Mildred Bowen) of Rice, Virginia, a sister in law, Mary Bowen of Rice, Virginia; five grandchildren; a special friend Eva Bartee of Buckingham, Virginia, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
