Wilfred Agnew Obituary


Wilfred Thomas Agnew was born to the late Ray and Florence Agnew. He was married to Ethel Streat Agnew for 53 years. From that union, six children were born.
Wilfred attended Prince Edward County schools in Farmville, Virginia. He was employed by Shaw Industry company in Keysville, VA for many years. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and attended Forest Baptist Church of Meherrin, VA. He was known as Hard Rock, Turkey, Pops and Papa. Always a man of few words, he was kind, gentle and loving to everyone. He never complained about anything.

Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Norman, Raymond, Roosevelt, Beulah, Lincoln and Leroy. He leaves to cherish many wonderful loving memories his devoted wife, Dottie; six children, Remona McFadden (Michael) of Washington, D.C., Tammy Scott (Marquest) and Thomas Agnew (Sheri) of Greenbay, VA., Linda Burton (Chad deceased) of Drakes Branch, VA, Clifton Agnew (Angela - a devoted friend) of Keysville, VA, Pamela Scott (James) of Meherrin, VA. One sister Gladys Agnew of North Carolina, three brothers Harvey Sr. (Christine) of Meherrin, VA., Ernest (Rosa) of North Carolina and Melvin of Ellenwood GA.  Fifteen grandchildren, 2 godchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
