William McKinley Claiborne

William McKinley Claiborne, 88, of Hagerstown, MD passed away at Meritus Medical Center on Sunday, May 3, 2020.  He was born on February 19th to the late William Mack Claiborne and Catherine Gillispie Claiborne.  Mr. Claiborne was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.  He loved being around people, loved fishing and loved every minute of caring for his family.  William was the last original founding member of the "Progressive Men's Club."  He would be there every Monday, faithfully checking in.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Janie V. Claiborne, and his grandson, Jemerrill Claiborne.  William si survived by his five children, Joyce Ann West, Bonnie Sue Claiborne, Ronnie William Claiborne, Gardner Claiborne, and James Merrill Claiborne, his brother Earl Claiborne, a host of  grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
